prime AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS

Prime Foundation Montessori offers a variety of After-School Programs for its students. Programs offered are always responsive to parent and student interests.

The After-School Programs, PrimeCare, PrimeHub, and PrimePlus at Prime are designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for YCC, Primary, and Elementary students after their Montessori work.

PrimeCare:

PrimeCare is Prime’s After-School Care Program that serves as a low-stress social environment on Prime’s campus where students can explore the natural playground, play games, work on independent and group projects, and enjoy the company of the community. Childcare is provided for primary and elementary-aged children until 6:00 pm.

PrimeCare is the only after-school care program offered to the Young Children’s Community (18 months -36 months), and it closes by 5:00 pm. Younger children require more bonding time with mom and dad at home, having dinner, taking an evening shower, sharing a snack, and reading a bedtime story before it’s bedtime at 7:00 or 8:00 pm!

PrimeHub:

PrimeHub is Prime’s after-school authentic Montessori Math program and Geometry Program serving children ages 4 to 12 in our neighborhood and community. The Montessori math and geometry pedagogy works for children of all developmental planes and skill levels, whether they’re struggling in math, doing fine but could be doing better, or are already excelling but need more of a challenge. Think of it as Montessori Kumon, only better! Classes are offered a couple of times a week in hourly sessions throughout the year. PrimeHub welcomes all students in this age group, regardless of their school of attendance.

PrimeHub utilizes authentic Montessori math and geometry pedagogy and didactic materials to give children clarity and proper understanding of mathematical and geometry concepts while simultaneously synchronizing with the traditional methods offered at their schools. The geometry program offers youngsters from 4 years old opportunities to have experiences with geometry earlier on in life before they are offered or taught at almost high school levels in conventional schools. Learn more below.

Students are not required to be enrolled students at Prime Foundation Montessori to attend PrimeHub. Students from conventional schools have shown significant improvements and secured excellent math grades from gaining clarity of mathematical and geometry concepts through the Montessori pedagogy from attending PrimeHub.

If your child is waitlisted for PrimeHub, you will hear from us shortly after your registration.

PrimePlus:

Additional enrichment options are available during after-school time through PrimePlus. PrimePlus is Prime's after-school enrichment classes available for Primary and Elementary students only.

PrimePlus is exclusive to current and incoming Prime Foundation Montessori families.

Important Notes

Complimentary drop-off is available only with pre-arrangement with the director. Space is limited.

All students who are on campus at the end of their dismissal time will automatically be placed into their age-appropriate PrimeCare group unless they are participating in other Prime After School Programs.

If a student needs to use PrimeCare for more than two days a week on a regular basis, the student should be enrolled full-time. Otherwise, drop-in charges will apply. We hope that you find one or more programs that are of interest to you and your family. If you have any questions about any of our afterschool programs or your child’s registration please contact us at info@pfmschool.org or call 240 744 0400.

We look forward to seeing your child after school!

“The role of education is to interest the child profoundly in an external activity to which he will give all his potential.”

primecare

Our Prime Before and After-School Care Program, PrimeCare, is now open for registration for this 2024-2025 school year. Available for the Young Children’s Community (3:15 - 5 pm), Primary students (3:15 - 6 pm), and Elementary students (3:15 - 6 pm), PrimeCare PM provides our students with a caring and enriching experience to conclude the school day.

In the afternoon, for PrimeCare PM, our Director prepares an after-school environment in the classroom so that Primary and Elementary children can be independent and enjoy choosing age-appropriate materials, games, art media, etc. Students can eat a snack, work on projects, and enjoy each other’s company in play.

When the playground is available, children go to the outdoor environment for supervised outdoor play. PrimeCare personnel are sensitive to the care and needs of children at all ages and stages of development in creating activities. They guide and encourage independence, positive choices, and collaborative play that fosters positive social relationships.

primeHUB

Prime Foundation Montessori is excited to announce a brand new 2023-2024 After-School Program, PrimeHub! PrimeHub is an authentic Montessori Mathematics program and Geometry program. These programs utilize authentic Montessori pedagogy, Montessori curriculum, and Montessori didactic materials to teach and clarify mathematics and geometry concepts to children ages 4 to 12 years old. (Toilet training required)

PrimeHub serves children in this age group regardless of their school of attendance. In other words, students are not required to be enrolled students at Prime Foundation Montessori to attend PrimeHub.

This is a wonderful Prime initiative for children in our community. PrimeHub builds a foundation for math mastery through a deep understanding of mathematical concepts rather than memorization, addressing any learning gaps, expanding their mathematical thinking, logical and reasoning minds, and critical thinking skills while adding new mathematical concepts in sequence.

The Montessori math and geometry pedagogy works for children of all developmental planes and skill levels, whether they’re struggling in math, doing fine but could be doing better, or are already excelling but need more of a challenge. Think of it as Montessori Kumon, only better!

Classes are offered for 1–2.5 hours depending on age, once a week with an expert and highly experienced Montessori-certified teacher, around the year. We currently offer classes in math and geometry. PrimeHub may be introducing other subject areas like language, science, and geography in the upcoming school year.

Parents can complete a PrimeHub inquiry form once they are interested in PrimeHub to begin the registration process.

A parent is welcome to register their child by completing a registration form only when a spot is confirmed available for your child in your chosen semester option.

As a reminder, spots are in high demand, are extremely limited, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage parents to begin the registration process early.
